Leslie Barrett has over 30 years of industry experience, and has a wide depth of multi-industry knowledge throughout the Southern California region. He oversees Vanir’s current projects in much of Southern California. By utilizing his extensive background in both engineering, construction and environmental planning, Leslie offers his clients expertise in land development, permitting, engineering, construction, and environmental mitigation projects throughout the region. Prior to his role with Vanir, Leslie managed sustainability and energy efficiency programs at Los Angeles Unified School District with duties that included the implementation of $126 million in Proposition 39 funds and $46 million in LADWP grants among dozens of programs. Previously engineering program manager at Metropolitan Water District, Leslie has managed the design and construction of water conveyance, storage and treatment facilities. He has an extensive background in heavy construction contracting including tunnels, pipelines, bridges and renewable energy development, and holds the esteemed credentials of being a Professional Engineer, with a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Juris Doctorate of Law. He is also a member of the California State Bar.
