Daniel Ferst, CCM

Senior Vice President and Bay Area Manager

Daniel “Dan” Ferst serves as Vanir’s Senior Vice President and Bay Area Manager. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the San Francisco office, including budgeting, revenue projections, operating costs, profitability, hiring, supervision, leadership, mentoring and training, as well as developing and nurturing client relationships. Dan is the Principal-in-Charge on most contracts in the Bay Area and ensures that Vanir’s services are being delivered to meet client expectations. He is also responsible for the identification and pursuit of all sales activities with support from executive directors and business development staff. As part of this effort, Dan conducts forecasting, develops win plans, provides guidance and directly participates in proposals and interviews for new projects. Dan maintains his focus on operations and the success of each active project in the Bay Area in addition to ongoing business development and marketing duties.

Dan has more than 25 years of experience in program, project and construction management (PMCM) and general contracting with an emphasis on cost controls, estimating, design and construction coordination, quality controls and scheduling. At Vanir, he has spent the last 15 years providing PMCM agency services on large county, commercial, healthcare, justice, office, hotel and lab projects, as well as educational K-14 programs. He has managed ground-up projects through all of the tenant improvement stages, as well as seismic retrofits and major modernizations for both public and private sector clients. Dan brings a creative and analytical style to manage projects from conception through completion.

A California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo alumnus, Dan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, is a Certified Construction Manager and proud member of the Construction Management Association of America.
