Yavai-Apache Nation – Convenience Store

Project overview

Vanir began working with Yavai-Apache Nation in 2013 for the planning and implementation of its sanitary sewer and water/ wastewater improvements. Following this project, the Yavai-Apache Tribal Council had a concept of building a convenience store (C-Store) and fueling station with a coffee shop and delicatessen. As the construction manager, Vanir worked with the Council to take this idea from concept through construction, and successfully delivered the new facilities. The design allows for future expansion adjacent to the C-Store.

In order to accelerate the project, Vanir produced a site work bid package to allow the site to be pad-ready while the store design was being completed. Vanir managed the design documents and produced an RFP to solicit bids from local general contractors. The project was competitively bid with the low bid price within 1% of Vanir’s cost estimate.

The quality of Vanir’s work was very professional and their willingness to communicate effectively helped during the entire process. Vanir always were willing to listen and were very open to constructive criticism especially during discussions with the Yavai-Apache Nation’s Council.
