Historic Glenn County Courthouse

Project overview

Vanir served as the program and construction manager for the renovation and expansion of the historic Willows’ Glenn County Courthouse, originally constructed in 1894. The Courthouse was expanded from a single courtroom to a modern and secure facility with three courtrooms, adding over 26,000 square feet. This improved the existing deficient court building and consolidated the Willows and Orland court facilities to enhance operations and services.

Targeting LEED Gold certification, the project included:

  • The removal of three small one-story additions/elevator and construction of a new two-story addition with elevators
  • Seismic upgrade to the existing two-story masonry building
  • Replacement of exterior windows and roof; restoration of exterior finishes; and improvements to interior finishes, toilet facilities, accessibility, mechanical, electrical and plumbing
  • New lighting and fire protection systems
  • Exterior landscaping and secured parking lot for court executives
