UC Riverside Student Academic Support Services Building

Project overview

Vanir provided construction management services for the new Student Academic Support Services (SASS) building at the University of California, Riverside. The Office of Student Affairs sought to revolutionize the way it provided support services for its students by creating a centralized administrative facility on campus. Previously, students had to travel to four separate buildings scattered throughout the campus to address their administrative needs.

The SASS building is a three-story, 58,140-square-foot building designed to streamline student interactions by housing all essential services in one location. This building houses departments providing services related to admissions, enrollment, records, registration, fees and tuition, financial aid, recruitment, administrative technology and on-campus student support.

The primary design strategy focused on maximizing efficiency and improving student service by centralizing these services. Additionally, the new facility promotes staff development and interaction by bringing together previously dispersed departments into a unified space.
