Stanton Energy Reliability Center

Project overview

Vanir served as the scheduler for the Stanton Energy Reliability Center (SERC) project, a state-of-the-art hybrid energy storage system. We developed a master project schedule detailing both the baseline and monthly progress schedules.

The West Los Angeles Basin area was specifically identified by the California Independent System Operator as needing local reliability generation and ancillary grid services, emphasizing the significance of the project’s location.

Coordinating with the general contractor, we ensured timely delivery of the project.

Energy specifics

SERC will provide a total of 98 megawatts (nominal) of hybrid energy storage capacity. The storage system consists of two General Electric LM6000 based EGT®s. EGT® is the hybrid technology jointly developed by General Electric International, Inc. and Wellhead Power Solutions. This technology combines a turbine with an integrated battery storage system operated by a proprietary software system.
