SoCalGas Regional Base

Project overview

Vanir provided construction management services for SoCalGas’ new Regional Base, a Certified LEED Gold and Net-Zero Energy facility. SoCalGas is the largest natural gas distribution utility in the United States. The Regional Base will serve more than 100,000 homes and businesses in the Kern County region. It consists of an employee training facility and customer demonstration center, as well as a separate storage building and garage.

Environmental aspects of the project include a photovoltaic solar energy system, storm water management, natural lighting and a super energy-efficient air conditioning system powered by natural gas instead of electricity. There is also a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station for company and public use.

Vanir delivers on budget, on schedule

Vanir was instrumental in successfully completing the SoCalGas training base by sticking to the budget at less than 5% contingency used. The facility was delivered on time to a very satisfied client! Vanir is honored to have served this leader of clean energy.
