Project overview

Vanir was selected in 2018 to provide construction management services to support the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Bond Measure ES. The projects include modernizations, classroom finishes, shade structures, restroom renovations, construction of portable classrooms and electrical infrastructure/HVAC upgrades.

Vanir’s services include day-to-day management of on-site contractors and tracking of documents through online project controls. We review, negotiate and issue change orders, publish daily/monthly reports and conduct weekly construction meetings with the District, general contractor, architects and inspectors.

Vanir is responsible for closeout activities, ensuring that the District receives all necessary as-builts, O&M manuals and training. We closely monitor and support team members to meet DSA’s requirements and close the projects with DSA certificates.

The construction managers Vanir has assigned to our projects are highly experienced and skilled…these projects, school modernizations, have been difficult in scope and schedule. They have succeeded with sometimes challenging contractors, keeping them to the contract, recovering the schedule, and moving the project forward to meet the deadline.
