Project overview
Vanir is providing construction management services for Chabot-Las Positas Community College District’s new state-of-the-art Public Safety Complex (PSC) and Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation (AMT) Building, which will house a world-class regional fire academy, an EMT and paramedic program and an administration of justice program. The facilities are co-located on the Las Positas College campus, allowing for shared linkages between the various programs, classrooms and event space.
The PSC project consists of:
- EMS simulation lab and situation rooms
- Fire training with “Class A” burn areas
- Fire training apparatus
The AMT project will include classrooms and lab spaces for training of advanced manufacturing processes, as well as:
- Automotive tech facility
- Welding lab
- Faculty offices
Funded through the District’s Measure A Bond Program, this project paves the way for public safety students to gain first-hand experience in emergency medical services, fire protection technology, emergency management, and criminal justice technology careers.
