Project overview
Vanir provided construction management services for Chabot-Las Positas Community College District’s new state-of-the-art Public Safety Complex (PSC) and Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation (AMT) Building. The PSC houses a regional fire academy and emergency services programs, while the AMT building provides career technical education (CTE) programs, including automotive technology, welding, advanced manufacturing and administration of justice. The two facilities are colocated on the Las Positas College campus, allowing for shared linkages between the various programs, classrooms and event space.
The PSC project included:
- Emergency medical services simulation lab and situation rooms
- Fire training with “Class A” burn areas and apparatus
Key features of the AMT building include:
- Classrooms and labs for advanced manufacturing training
- Automotive technology facility
- Welding lab
- Faculty offices
Funded through the District’s Measure A Bond Program, this project paves the way for public safety students to gain first-hand experience in emergency and technical services.
