Placer County Animal Services Center

Project overview

The Placer County Animal Services Center is a new two-story facility with approximately 30,000 square feet of building and exterior covered spaces, designed to be welcoming to the public and promote animal health and well being. The top floor functions as workspace for Animal Control and kennel staff, while the first floor is designed to accommodate the public, animal, and veterinary needs.

As the project manager, Vanir’s team worked closely with the County’s project lead to ensure cohesive management from the onset of the project. We filled a vital role in effective project communications, serving as the conduit between the contractor, the owner, and the subconsultants. A wide variety of experts from Vanir were onsite during all stages of construction–BIM experts performed site walks to confirm that the 3D model was up-to-date with field conditions; electrical professionals reviewed the electrical rough-in on the jobsite prior to the facility walls being closed in; and our energy expert checked the efficiency of the building systems onsite to ensure that the highest standard levels were met and functioning as designed.
