Mia’s Dream Come True Playground

Project overview

Vanir provided construction management services for Mia’s Dream Come True Playground (Mia’s Dream) located in Tennyson Park. The Park is a tribute to Mia, a child born with a rare form of cerebral palsy, for a fully accessible playground in her neighborhood.

The playground provides a variety of play features and experiences for children of all abilities. The design consists of elements of inclusion play: cognitive, physical, social, sensory and communication. Features include a music therapy zone, Kindness Arches, water tower look-out, sensory wall, swings and spinners, slides and rollers and an animal and nature exhibit.

The project also included accessible pathways, picnic areas, seating, shade structures and a new restroom building.
