Project overview
Vanir provided construction management services for Mia’s Dream Come True Playground (Mia’s Dream) located in Tennyson Park. The Park is a tribute to Mia, a child born with a rare form of cerebral palsy, for a fully accessible playground in her neighborhood.
The playground provides a variety of play features and experiences for children of all abilities. The design consists of elements of inclusion play including cognitive, physical, social, sensory and communication.
Play features include:
- Music therapy zone
- Kindness arches
- Water tower look-out, sensory wall
- Swings and spinners
- Slides and rollers
- Animal and nature exhibit
The project also included accessible pathways, picnic areas, seating, shade structures and a new restroom building.
