Louisiana Children’s Museum – Early Learning Village

Project overview

The Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) selected Vanir to provide construction management services for its Early Learning Village project in City Park, a state-of-the-art learning center that will rival similar museums across the country and around the world.

The new Children’s Museum, located on 8.5 acres of land, will include a nature center, literacy center, parent and teacher resource center, edible garden, kitchen, and cafe. LCM is a private nonprofit and is building the new facility with a combination of private donations and state capital outlay funding.

A win for the client, a win for the project team

Vanir is very excited to be part of this new venture that will better the lives of thousands of children, as well as promote sustainability and environmental stewardship within the community. Our full construction management services include project management, estimating, constructability review, scheduling, and value engineering. We were selected based on our extensive experience with specialty facilities such as museums, aquariums, and zoos, and because of our success on similarly funded projects.

Vanir was key to moving the project into construction by leading the contractor, designer, and owner through the value engineering process that lowered the project cost by over 7%; back within budget.

Vanir is also providing management services related to the extensive FF&E and Exhibitry Packages, as well as management of the Enhanced Commissioning requirements.
