Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital – The Arrival Experience

Project overview

Vanir provided construction management services for the Gila River Indian Community’s Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital. Our team assisted with the construction and closeout phases of the project.

The Vanir team was honored to work alongside the Gila River Health Care staff and members of the Gila River Indian Community to create an inviting entrance for this critical facility, which provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to members of the Gila River Indian Community, the Ak-Chin Indian Community and other federally-recognized tribes.

Dubbed “The Arrival Experience,” the project included a new entrance and patient lobby, as well as two new parking lots. The lobby aspect of the project consisted of a 2,000-square-foot interior remodel along with 2,200 square feet of new construction to provide space for a reception desk and hospital, security and transportation staff. Storage was added to accomodate patient wheelchairs and car seats. An existing outdoor garden space was incorporated into the remodeled lobby to become additional interior space.

An extended partnership

Vanir performed additional construction management services for Gila River Health Care, inspecting a design-build interior renovation at its Komatke Health Center in Laveen, Arizona.
