Highline Public Schools 2016 Bond Program

Program overview

Vanir provided program, project and construction management (PMCM) services for Highline Public Schools’ 2016 $384 million capital bond program. Our services included managing the design for all projects, which resulted in tight bids within the owner’s estimate, substantial bid coverage (notable in a hot economy) and few changes during construction.

The program was completed on time and below budget, meeting promises to the voters. Key projects included:

  • Olympic Interim High School: 101,074 square feet, $33.3 million, completed summer 2019
  • Des Moines Elementary School: 84,379 square feet, $57.8 million, completed summer 2019
  • Glacier Middle School: 142,000 square feet, $91.4 million, completed summer 2019
  • Highline High School: 225,000 square feet, $151.8 million, completed summer 2021

A continued partnership

Following the success of the 2016 bond, Vanir is continuing to provide PMCM services to Highline for its current 2022 bond program, aimed to replace and improve three additional schools in the district by the 2027 school year:

  • Tyee High School: 210,000 square feet, $183.4 million, completed 2025
  • Evergreen High School: 210,000 square feet, $206.3 million, to be completed spring 2026
  • Pacific Middle School: 130,0000 square feet, $137.4 million, to be completed spring 2027
