El Dorado County Public Safety Complex

Project overview

Vanir provided project management services for the El Dorado County Public Safety Complex, the largest capital project the County has completed to date. The 5-building complex is located on 12 acres of a 30.34-acre site. It includes a public safety building with emergency operation services and a 911 dispatch center; a morgue; an evidence building; a special operations and training building; and an indoor, 10-lane, 50-yard shooting range and armory.

Our partnership with the County dates back to 2013, when we conducted an operational assessment and facility study of its sheriff’s facilities. Following this report, Vanir was instrumental in guiding the County with the preparation of a 400-plus page pre-loan application for the Public Safety Complex, which secured a low-interest, long-term loan from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Vanir’s work on the Space Needs Assessment set the direction and needs of the project that we were able to use to provide our citizens with a facility that will meet the needs of the agency for the next 20 plus years. The Vanir Construction Management Team has provided us with the detailed oversight of the project, allowing us to stay on time and under budget. The close working relationship has been outstanding.
