Project overview
Vanir, as part of a joint venture (JV), provided program, project, and construction management for Dallas ISD’s Rosemont School project. The project transformed a 43,500-square-foot, four-building campus into an over 107,300-square-foot educational environment with seven connecting structures that surround a landscape learning courtyard.
Serving 3rd through 8th grade in the Bishop Arts District, the project underwent extensive renovations and additions including:
- Complete renovation and upgrades of the kitchen/cafeteria building
- Renovation of the two-story educational building
- New construction of the gym/storm shelter, adjacent auditorium, and fine arts building
- Repurposing the existing gym building into an administrative wing
- Shifting the main entrance of the school to a new location, requiring new site paving and security features
- Landscaping and site amenities
Innovative solutions, swing space transition
Beyond the original project scope, the JV team had to immediately assess, plan, permit, and secure a temporary swing school to ensure school operations during construction of Rosemont School. The conversion and renovation of Arcadia Park as this swing site provided students and staff with a safe and conducive learning environment for the next 18 months. The transition was seamless and played a key role in the overall success of the project.
