Project overview
Vanir provided project and construction management services for Barrow Neurological Institute’s new neuroscience facility, the Barrow Neuroplex. Renowned for having the nation’s leading neurosurgeons, the Institute consistently outperforms all other brain surgery facilities in the United States annually. Located on the St. Joseph’s Hospital Medical Center campus, the Neuroplex now serves as the nation’s model for future research and medical innovation.
With 130,050 square feet, the five-story facility houses:
- Outpatient clinics, including neurosurgery, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, and neuro-endocrinology
- The Institute’s comprehensive stroke care center
- An ambulatory surgical center and Pre-admission Testing Clinic for neurosurgery
In addition, the facility includes 30,000 square feet of research space, increasing Barrow’s existing laboratory space by 50%.
Vanir’s scope of work included constructability review, cost management, estimating, owner’s representation, program management support, staff augmentation, and value engineering.
