California School for the Deaf, Riverside

Project overview

Vanir provided project management and construction management services for the California School for the Deaf project in Riverside (CSDR). CSDR helps deaf and hard-of-hearing children develop skills that will enable them to become independent and successful members of their community. Vanir is honored to have played a role in delivering state-of-the-art facilities for this campus, such as the new Career/Technical Education Complex, which will greatly impact the future of the students. The project consisted of four main parts:

  • New Career/Technical Education Complex and Service Yard: Included construction of an education building, vocational shops building and greenhouse building
  • Demolition of existing gym and construction of new pool and gymnasium building: 45,000-square-foot enclosed structure, Certified LEED Silver
  • Kitchen and dining hall renovation
  • Academic support cores, bus loop and renovation

As one of the Architects of Record on this large project, I have been very pleased with Vanir’s work product and recognize the importance of having such a team representing the owner.
