Project overview
Vanir, as part of a joint venture (JV) with STV (Vanir | STV ), is providing program and project management services for Austin Independent School District’s 2022 Bond program. The $2.44 billion bond is funding security and technology upgrades, school modernizations through full and partial renovations and other campus improvements. Vanir | STV’s scope of work involves 15 facilities ranging from K-12 schools, leadership academies and career development institutions to a new stadium, activity center and bus terminal.
The JV’s projects that began in summer of 2023 include:
- Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy – Demolition and new build for an all-girls middle school. Design started August 2023 with construction anticipated to begin in early 2025. The JV is also coordinating a swing space for the students to attend during construction.
- Northeast Early College High School – Development of the Campus concept plan that enables students to attend college-level courses. The JV is also updating the athletic fields and parking lots.
- Nelson Bus Terminal – Development of a concept plan to assist AISD with potential options for electrification of this facility. AISD plans to electrify 100% of its bus fleet by 2035.
