Alderwood Water & Wastewater District Picnic Point Wastewater Treatment Facility

Project overview

Vanir provided construction management services for the Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) Picnic Point Wastewater Treatment Facility project, which involved expanding the facility to its full secondary treatment design capacity of 6 million gallons per day, a 50% increase.

  • Replacing the existing membrane cassettes in AWWD’s membrane bioreactor (MBR) tanks and implementing MBR units into the two open cells
  • Installing automated aeration basin control gates, renovating and upgrading the solids tanks and installing new washer/compactors in the influent screenings room
  • Installing new blowers for the MBR scouring air system
  • Vent and membrane-effluent piping revisions
  • Removing and replacing the failed tank coating system inside the MBR tanks and solids tanks
  • Providing NACE lll coatings inspection for all new tanks
  • Receiving all owner-furnished equipment and ensuring its availability when needed for installation
