Project overview
Vanir provided construction management services for the Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) Picnic Point Wastewater Treatment Facility project, which involved expanding the facility to its full secondary treatment design capacity of 6 million gallons per day, a 50% increase.
The plant remained operational throughout construction, and the project was completed under budget. The scope of work included:

- Installing automated aeration basin control gates, renovating and upgrading the solids tanks and installing new washer/compactors in the influent screenings room
- Installing new blowers for the MBR scouring air system
- Vent and membrane-effluent piping revisions
- Removing and replacing the failed tank coating system inside the MBR tanks and solids tanks
- Providing NACE lll coatings inspection for all new tanks
- Receiving all owner-furnished equipment and ensuring its availability when needed for installation
