Laura McCarty serves as Vanir’s Executive Director of Education. In this role, Laura will lead national development, planning and strategy, working collaboratively with all regions to spearhead initiatives focused on the successful acquisition and delivery of new K-12 and higher education services. She will also help advance our program management practice and advise clients on more complex delivery methods such as progressive design-build.
Laura has more than 30 years of K-12 and higher education experience, with specialized expertise in bond program planning and management, project development, design and construction. Prior to joining Vanir, she held a number of key leadership roles within the industry, including Program Manager at the University of California, San Diego, Director of Capital Projects for the Peralta Community College District, Director of Modernization for the College of Marin and more. Most recently, Laura served as a Project Management Consultant, partnering with clients to work on San Francisco University High School’s new $64 million California Street Campus and a historic remodel of a synagogue (including a preschool and classrooms), as well as facilitated the selection of a design-build team for a new, $60 million humanities building at Arizona State University.
Laura, a certified Design-Build and LEED Accredited Professional, holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. She will be based out of Vanir’s San Francisco, California office.
