Vanir’s Bay Area Team Wins Four 2025 Awards for the Contra Costa County Administration Building B Project

Vanir is thrilled to announce that our Bay Area team has won four awards for the Contra Costa County Administration Building B project: CMAA Northern California Chapter Project Achievement Award, Sue Dyer Innovation Award, John L. Martin Partnering Project of the Year Award and Baldwin Group Build America Merit Award.

The design-build project completed Contra Costa County’s vision to enhance their civic campus in downtown Martinez and revitalize the community. The project involved demolishing a 12-story, 1960-era County administration building, which did not complement the human scale of downtown Martinez, along with the adjacent 1902 County jail, which had been vacant for over 40 years. The vacated sites, including Pine Street between them, are now home to the County’s Administration Building B and a public plaza.

The Administration Building B project Achieved LEED Platinum certification and became the first government project globally to earn Total Resource & Efficiency (TRUE) Gold for Construction certification.

Vanir served as the project manager responsible for design and construction management, waste management and commissioning for our staff and consultants. Our team also conducted a comprehensive architect and contractor outreach program and marketing effort to maximize interest in the design-build project.

Congratulations to our client, Contra Costa County, the project team, including Perkins&Will and Webcor and our Vanir team members on the success of this incredible project!
