We are pleased to announce that Tim Hancock has joined the Vanir team as our new Senior Program Advisor for Juvenile Justice. In this role, he will work collaboratively with Vanir’s area offices and business development teams to develop and implement new initiatives, improve our client interactions and grow our national presence in the justice and essential services sector.
Tim is a 26-year veteran of the San Diego County Probation Department, having recently retired as a Division Chief. He spent the last five years of his career developing, designing and constructing Phase I of the County of San Diego’s new, multi-phase Youth Transition Campus (Vanir provided construction management services for Phase I and has been selected to do the same for Phase II). The homelike campus, which has adopted a more therapeutic and less punitive approach, is a model facility not only in design and process, but in its focus on providing supportive, trauma-informed services to help rehabilitate coed youths ages 12-20 and prepare them to reintegrate back into the community. The project finished on time and within budget while weathering the storm of a global pandemic.
Tim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology (emphasis in criminal justice) from Point Loma Nazarene University.
