As we come off our 2023 Business Planning Meeting in Sacramento, we are pleased to share a few exciting changes to the makeup of Vanir’s corporate and area leadership teams.
Bob Fletcher, Senior Vice President of Business Development
Bob has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President of Business Development (BD) and will be the new point of leadership/contact for Vanir’s Executive Directors. In this new role, he will continue to work with our corporate and regional project, marketing, BD and leadership teams to create and execute strategic plans that build on our existing portfolio and identify emerging market opportunities.
Bob, who recently celebrated 21 years of service to Vanir, has developed a high standard for business, positioning himself and the company at the forefront of opportunities. With an unparalleled understanding of the markets we serve and a knack for building and nurturing long-term relationships with clients and industry peers, he has established Vanir (and himself) as the go-to partner for public and private sector clients throughout the country.
Jerry Avalos, CCM, LEED AP, EIT, Vice President and Central and Northern California Area Manager
Jerry will now serve as Vice President and Central and Northern California Area Manager. In this role, he will work collaboratively with Vanir’s corporate leadership and area staff to identify, pursue and capture new business; deliver innovative solutions; and develop new area and project policies and procedures for both regions.
Jerry, who joined the Vanir team in 1999, is an accomplished management executive who possesses the ability to balance strategic decisions and financial discipline with a hands-on approach to leadership – resulting in strong employee, client and project team satisfaction. He is also responsible for serving as Principal-in-Charge on multi-$100 million dollar capital projects, BD, contract negotiations, area and project team development and increasing company visibility for growth.
Tom Tracy, PE, ENV SP, Executive Director of Transportation
As Vanir’s new Executive Director of Transportation, Tom will be responsible for leading national market development, planning and strategy and working collaboratively with all regions to spearhead initiatives focused on the successful acquisition of new aviation and transportation business.
Tom, who has served as Vanir’s Sacramento Area Manager since 2021, brings more than 40 years of experience in a wide range of infrastructure and transportation-related programs and projects. His full resume includes over 50 large-scale transportation projects alone. His experience also includes preliminary engineering and environmental clearance, managing projects as a contract or task manager, performing public outreach and acting as a design or quality manager.
