Project overview
Vanir served as the program, project, and construction manager for the Valleywise Behavioral Health – Phoenix renovation project.
Housing both office and in house behavioral health services, the building required four tenant improvement projects, including:
- Renovating the South Wing into an education pavilion with classrooms, computer labs, and staff offices
- Replacing three rooftop air handling control units
- Converting office space into a behavioral health dietary and social club with a full kitchen, dining areas, and access to the exterior yard
- Replacing HVAC ducts and installing code-compliant sprinkler heads and fire alarm devices in four active patient units, lobby space, and in-house courtroom
All work was completed while keeping the building fully operational. Sticking to a tight timeline, Vanir carefully coordinated mechanical, plumbing, and electrical shutdowns to avoid interruptions, since the facility housed 24-hour in-patient behavioral health services.
During COVID-19, our team also helped the client and contractor quickly shift priorities and re-sequence work to maintain progress. Leading these coordination efforts allowed our team to keep the project under budget and on schedule, while minimizing potential future delays.
