Vanir Wins a 2023 CMAA National Project Achievement Award

We’re thrilled to announce that Vanir has won a CMAA National Project Achievement Award for its work on the UC Davis Health Ambulatory Care Center Expansion/Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute.

For decades, the team at UC Davis Health had dreamed of a new, leading-edge eye institute that would revolutionize patient care, host groundbreaking clinical trials and recruit and train the next generation of ophthalmologists. That dream became a reality with the opening of its new, state-of-the-art Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute.

Vanir was proud to provide construction project management services for the project, which included:

  • Construction of a four-story, 58,745-square-foot structure for outpatient services
  • Renovation of 16,760 square feet of existing clinical space in the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC)
  • New utilities, roadway relocations and upgrades to the ACC’s critical systems and utilities to better accept institute

Vanir’s full range of services included project and construction management, planning, design-build criteria development, procurement management and RFQ/RFP from design through warranty. In addition, our team provided sustainable design criteria services for the project, which is targeting LEED Gold for the new construction and LEED Silver for the renovation component.

The new facility includes 64 examination rooms, 24 imaging rooms, an entire floor dedicated to refractive and oculoplastic surgery and more.

Congratulations and thank you to UC Davis Health, our Vanir team members and everyone else involved with these two incredible facilities!
