West Los Angeles College Fine Arts Complex

Project Overview

The fine arts complex on the Culver City campus of West Los Angeles College is a 38,000 square foot, three-story classroom structure housing classrooms, studios and darkrooms, along with practice rooms for music and visual arts. A single story wing houses a 400-seat performance hall and exhibit space.

Budget Management and Cost Reduction

Vanir assisted the District in preparing an augmentation request that resulted in an additional $560,000 for site development costs resulting from building the project on a hillside area of the existing campus.

Vanir performed a detailed constructability review of the completed plans prior to issuing the plans for bid. Extensive value engineering and cost reduction reviews were also performed to bring the project within budget.
