Banner Health

Project overview

The Vanir team oversaw renovation and expansion work for Banner Health from 2006 to 2016 through a staff augmentation contract. We managed the design and construction of many clinical and nonclinical projects at six Banner Hospitals and numerous outpatient/corporate facilities located throughout the metro Phoenix Valley.

A few project examples included:

  • Banner Desert Medical Center: Vanir managed a remodel of an outpatient treatment center, construction of a pedestrian bridge and the renovation of three CT scanner rooms.
  • Banner Thunderbird Medical Center: We led a pharmacy renovation and expansion, including new direct compounding/anterooms, a pharmaceutical refrigeration unit, an automated tablet counter, a pneumatic tube system and office space.
  • Banner Health Corporate Relocation: Our team successfully relocated 1,000 Banner Health employees by expediting the planning, design and interior build-out of 14 floors. We developed the budget and bid documents, negotiated contracts and managed the procurement for$2.5 million of furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • Banner University Medical Center/Phoenix: Vanir assisted the architect/engineering team in planning and developing the construction phasing and documentation for a new four-story emergency department, a 733-bed tower and a five-story parking garage. A small sampling of other projects we provided construction management services for include a new sickle cell anemia infusion clinic, pharmacy renovation, sleep center and lobby renovations.
