Melinda Guzman serves as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of the Vanir Group of companies. A nationally-acclaimed litigator with more than 30 years of legal expertise and mastery, Ms. Guzman is licensed to practice law in both California and Washington, D.C.
She possesses expertise in all legal aspects of construction, finance, governance, employment, higher education and business. Ms. Guzman has served as general counsel to companies at the local, state and national levels and also holds a real estate broker’s license. She is vice chairman of the board of directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and is a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Her myriad corporate and nonprofit governance service includes serving as a Trustee Emeritus to two California statewide university systems.
Ms. Guzman’s many global, national and regional honors include the “Ohtli” Award of the Mexican government, the highest recognition bestowed in Mexico upon an individual who creates pathways for future generations of Mexican residents to succeed, and a “Makers: Women who Make America” Award by PBS.
