Vanir hosted its 21st Annual PM/CM Conference on November 5 and 6, 2010. This year’s theme, The High-Velocity Edge, was inspired by the book of the same name written by Steven J. Spear, the keynote speaker. The conference was held at the Hilton Hotel, Arden West in Sacramento, California and was attended by Vanir employees, clients and special guests. The annual conference serves as an opportunity for attendees to reflect on key industry issues, learn about best practices, and advance their overall skills and industry knowledge.
Keynote speaker, Steven J. Spear, joined via satellite and shared his thoughts on how companies can apply high-velocity edge principals to organizations and projects. Other conference presenters included representatives from the CA Department of General Services, Parsons Brinkerhoff, CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and various local counties and school districts, among others. Vanir employees also offered their expertise for several sessions. Topics ranged from various delivery methods and new building codes to best practices from around the world and green building.
Friday night included a river boat cruise aboard the Empress Hornblower, where attendees were treated to a night of cocktails, dinner and entertainment as they sailed along the historic Sacramento waterway, while enjoying a beautiful fall evening.
