Earlier this week, Vanir Construction Management, Inc. joined Sierra College to celebrate the recently completed expansion of the Nevada County Campus. Vanir provided construction management services for the program, which took place over the course of four years. The program was comprised of six new buildings, including a general classroom building, two-and three-dimensional art buildings, a public safety training facility, wellness center, gymnasium, and an ultra-modern multi-purpose room. Other existing campus buildings were updated, including the student center, health center, learning center, student services building, and science building.
The event included various faculty members, Board of Trustee members, project team members and members of the community. Celebrations focused on the opportunities the new buildings will bring to students and the community, as well as the overall success of the project. The evening concluded with tours of the beautiful campus and the new facilities.
Highlights of the tour included the new multi-purpose room with auditorium chairs that retract back into the wall. Once retracted, the chairs only take up five feet of space, allowing the room to be transformed into a true, multi-purpose room that can accommodate banquets and other events requiring an open environment. Additionally, the new buildings all include state-of-the art equipment, such as the latest graphic design technology, sophisticated dark rooms for photography, and advanced visual art resources.
The Nevada County Campus is located in the Sierra Foothills community of Grass Valley, CA. Set on a beautiful 105 acres, the campus offers breathtaking views of the city of Grass Valley atop what was formerly Litton Hill.
