High-Rise Cooling Towers Replaced via Helicopter

Vanir has been providing engineering management services for the Metro Gateway Headquarter Building in Los Angeles, California for the Metro Transportation Authority.  The team is currently replacing six cooling towers on the roof of the 27-story building.  To mitigate the challenges of working on a high-rise in a major city, the team is employing the use of a helicopter to drop the systems into place.

The first helicopter lift took place on December 29, 2012 and was a major success.  Caught on YouTube, the drop can be watched here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0adl-qj–NM&feature=em-share_video_user.  The second lift took place on February 23, 2013 and was just as successful and exciting as the first.  This team sure knows how to rise above a challenge – way to go!
