Michael Burns serves as Vanir’s Executive Director of Infrastructure. In this role, Mr. Burns is responsible for providing senior-level management and leadership, working collaboratively across regions to sustain growth in the transportation and water markets. He is also responsible for growing development advisory services for civil and social infrastructure public private partnerships.
With nearly 30 years of extensive construction and engineering experience, Mr. Burns has held planning, design, construction and finance roles across a broad set of public and private infrastructure development programs. Together, his empathetic leadership style and program management experience has honed his understanding of complex governance and economic models, deepening his enthusiasm for leading teams delivering sustainable infrastructure to our communities.
Mr. Burns holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Montana State University, Bozeman.
Mr. Burns is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado. His professional registrations include Project Management Institute – Program Management Professional and Design Build Institute of America – Designated Design Build Professional. He is also a proud member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the University of Colorado’s Construction Advisory Board.
