Tampalpais Union High School District
Sir Francis Drake High School

Mill Valley, CA

An Award-Winning Project
Vanir is proud to have led the modernization of Sir Francis Drake High School. This project met the client's expectations, was completed within budget, and the buildings were ready for occupancy of approximately 1,000 students at the start of the 2006 school year. Vanir managed the project from master planning through completion. The project included construction of a new student center, conversion of the existing under-utilized student center to a full service kitchen and serving area, modernization of the school gymnasium, and reconfiguration of the locker room and ancillary areas.

Streamlined Communication
As the construction manager, Vanir was the hub of information and decision making for the project team. The project used an on-line collaborative program to communicate information and maintain logs for RFIs, change orders, submittals, meeting minutes, and ASIs. This system helped steamline communication and create a more efficient communication procedure.

Complete Customer Satisfaction
Like many projects, there were several different levels of the client that we served. We worked effectively with the modernization director and the principal to provide exceptional customer service.

"Vanir deserves full credit for customer service and satisfaction on this project. As with many school modernization projects, District constraints often conflict with site expectations, and Ahmad [Vanir's Construction Manager] successfully communicated those conflicting needs and decisions between his two 'clients.'"
