San Leandro Unified School District Modernization Program
San Leandro, CA

Long-Term Client Relationship
Vanir was selected in August of 1997 to provide facility assessment and master planning services for multiple campuses in the San Leandro Unified School District. Each site was analyzed for its facility needs, taking into account the condition assessment that Vanir had conducted, the district-wide issues, site-specific issues and previous information obtained from maintenance.

In April 1998, the district selected Vanir to provide program, project and construction management services for its modernization and building program at 12 campuses. The program involved new construction (consisting of new wings at three schools), a new elementary school, and renovation and remodeling of each school.

We guided the district in restructuring the building program, enabling it to be completed seven years early.

Value of Vanir's Online Project Website
The district had a strong need to keep the community informed of the progress of work, knowing that it would eventually need the community's support for future bond elections. We developed a website that identified the total funding needs of the district, projects funded to date, the status of funded projects, and the un-funded projects.

A True Extension of the District
"Vanir's efforts continue to be the key element in keeping our program on track... they have time and time again supported the district and represented our interests as if they were part of the district."
