Duarte Unified School District Modernization and Renovation Program
Duarte, CA

Delivering of Major District-Wide Program
With the passage of the $44 million Measure B Bond in April 1998, the Duarte Unified School District embarked upon a district-wide school modernization and rehabilitation program.

Vanir developed the SB50/Proposition 1A Eligibility Applications, including the A-1 drawings, identifying an additional $7-$10 million in state matching funds for which the district was eligible.

We created the program phases to prioritize and optimize the funding schedule. Phase I addressed health and life safety issues, ADA access requirements, and other code-related requirements, as well as technology, instructional program enhancements and classroom renovations. Phase II expands upon the instructional program enhancements and classroom renovations. Phase III includes other long-range improvements and site-specific "wish list" items. The phasing produced immediate modernization benefits and allowed class schedules to continue without construction impact.

Ahead of Schedule by Seven Years
We accelerated the program to minimize escalation and related overhead costs. The original program was planned to be completed by 2015. It was accelerated by seven years, allowing for more improvement to the facilities.

Superior CM Service
"I have worked with several CM firms, and Vanir is superior to them all. Every project that they have managed has come in with no stop notices, no law suits, no delays, on time and at or below budgets. Vanir has restored my faith in the CM industry."
