County of El Dorado, South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Treatment Center
South Lake Tahoe, CA

Successful Delivery of New Juvenile Center
Vanir's project and construction management services led to the successful delivery of the new juvenile treatment center. This 40-bed facility is used for juvenile treatment and commitment programs serving the eastern region of El Dorado County and provides much needed secure accommodations and services to this part of the county.

Thorough Environmental Review
The facility was designed to meet the stringent architectural and environmental constraints of Lake Tahoe regional approval agencies. Our design phase management included thorough environmental review under NEPA, CEQA and TRPA policies to ensure all environmental protection criteria was implemented.

Delivered Ahead of Schedule and On Budget
Vanir developed strong client satisfaction and team success by initiating a "partnering" approach.

While site construction activities were limited to May 1 through October 15 annually, other wildlife restrictions limited tree removal to non raptor-nesting months (September through March), restraining site construction for this project to 6 weeks.

Vanir successfully proposed that tree removal occur during non-nesting season while snow covered the site, removing nesting habitat, but leaving behind tree stumps for removal during the approved ground-disturbing season. This allowed construction to start in May, allowing for building enclosure to be completed prior to the following snow season. We delivered the project two months ahead of schedule.
