Sierra College Math & Technology Building
Rocklin, CA

High Technology Learning
Vanir's construction management services led to a successful delivery of the new math and technology building. The building provides 41 classrooms, laboratories and study labs, many of which are outfitted with "smart classroom" technology. Smart classrooms and laboratories include an instructor console which allows multimedia presentations and internet access, as well as interaction with student computers in the laboratories.

The Math and Science Division headquarters will be located in this new building and consolidates many faculty and staff offices. The Business and Technology Division relocated a significant number of classrooms to this building. The Liberal Arts Division has also relocated its Anthropology classroom to the new facility.

This new addition to the College's portfolio was made possible by funds from the California State Bonds of Propositions 47 and 55. The balance of the funding was provided by the District.

Effective Schedule Management
During site preparation for the new building, a source of underground water was discovered, causing significant water ponding inside the proposed building footprint. Vanir worked with the contractor, the college, and the architect's team to move the building's footprint in order to avoid significant project delays due to re-engineering, and to avoid costs due to required building waterproofing.
