Vanir Wins Major CDCR Contract!

Vanir has been selected by the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to provide program management services for the Secure Reentry Program Facilities. Funding for this program is $2.7 billion.

This contract includes assisting the CDCR in the planning, design and construction of 32 Reentry Facilities. The Secure Reentry Facility is a model in which smaller facilities and stronger rehabilitation programs prepare offenders for life outside prison, during their last 12 months of incarceration. Each facility will not exceed 500 beds in size. It will be mandatory that all new construction achieve LEED Silver certification.

The total program will include up to 16,000 new beds and the duration for the design and construction will be ten years.

William S. Hart Union High School District
March 2008
Vanir has been selected by our long term client, William S. Hart Union High School District, to provide construction management services for the Hart High School Modernization project. Our services will also include a constructability review and independent cost estimate. This project has a construction cost of $30 million.

Vanir’s Second Project with the CDCR Major Capital Outlay Program

As announced in September 2007, Vanir is one of eight construction management firms that was selected to provide pre-construction phase and construction phase services for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Major Capital Outlay Construction Program. The program consists of over 50 projects valued at more than $3 billion. The projects are located throughout the State at over 30 existing prisons and juvenile justice facilities.

On Tuesday, March 11, it was announced that Vanir was selected to provide complete construction management services on the new AB900 Infill Project at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. The project will consist of 1,900 new Reception and Level IV Beds, with all associated support spaces, infrastructure and sitework. The total project cost is currently estimated at $400+ million. The design of this project will be fast-tracked, with groundbreaking scheduled for December 2008

San Luis Obispo County Airport Terminal and Parking Structure

Vanir has been selected by San Luis Obispo County to manage the design and construction of a new airport terminal and parking structure. The anticipated approved budget is $70 million. The scope consists of multiple bid packages:

South Pasadena Unified School District
February 2008
Vanir has been selected to provide program/construction management services for the New Construction Phase of South Pasadena Middle School. The delivery method will be Fast-Track; Single or Multiple-Prime (TBD). The estimated construction cost is $17 million. The project scope includes: new, two-story Admin/Library/Computer Classrooms (14,000 sq. ft.); new Gymnasium & Shower/Locker Rooms (14,000 sq. ft.); Parking Lot with 83 stalls; and associated site work and underground utilities. Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2008.
