The goal of the $1.2B Brightwater wastewater program is to provide northern King County and southern Snohomish County, WA with a new state-of-the-art 36 million gallon per day tertiary treatment plant. The Marine Outfall pipeline provided a means to disperse the highly treated effluent into the deep, fast moving waters of Puget Sound. Vanir provided the owner extensive pre-construction services, as well as full construction phase construction management and inspection services. The quality assurance/quality control coverage included the construction site on land and underwater, as well as several off-site locations where components and pipes were fabricated and coated.
The project was completed 22.5 months before the contracted completion date and $8 million under budget.
In addition to managing the outfall project, Vanir is currently providing inspection staff for the treatment plant construction.
