Vanir has been selected by East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD) to provide
construction management services for their $40 million Richmond Advanced Recycled
Expansion (RARE) Water Project.
The RARE Water Project will provide high purity recycled water to replace potable
water currently used by Chevron for its boilers. The RARE Water Project consists
of constructing a new booster pump station and 4 million gallon per day
microfiltration and reverse osmosis (MF/RO) treatment plant.
The project will help conserve EBMUD’s limited drinking water supplies and
reduce the threat of severe rationing to 1.3 million customers during droughts.
The Chevron Refinery in Richmond is EBMUD’s single largest water customer.
