Hayward Unified School District Measure 'I'
New Construction & Modernization Program
Hayward, CA

Project Overview

Four new and modernized elementary schools were delivered using the Lease/Leaseback delivery method. In addition to the elementary schools, one middle school was also renovated. Scope included both new construction and renovation projects.

These schools were selected for Measure I because of their strategic location near large student populations. The elementary schools are approximately 68,000 s.f. with 34 classrooms and a capacity of 650-750 students. The renovation and rebuilds increase each school’s capacity, allowing HUSD to serve more students closer to home, with fewer schools. Two of the four elementary schools are complete rebuilds, the other two are a combination of new construction and modernization.
