Los Angeles Mission College Library-Learning Resource Center
Sylmar, CA

Project Overview

Vanir's design phase project management and construction management services were used to successfully deliver the three-story library-learning resource center, which serves as the centerpiece of the community college campus. The center features a 20,000 sq. ft. library and a 15,000 sq. ft. computer training facility and learning assistance center that opens onto the central quad of the campus. The lowest level houses audio-video studios, labs and a terraced teleconference/distance learning center.

Technology at its Best

The library-learning resource center is an advanced, technologically integrated building, connecting over 500 computers to a fiber optic network. Satellite uplink and downlink capabilities are provided for interactive video teleconferencing and distance learning programs and capabilities. Computer connections allow access to catalogue information and book collections in university and public libraries throughout the nation.
