Project Overview

Vanir was originally selected to provide program and construction management services for the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre expansion program in Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Vanir also provided pre-design and master planning services to help define the scope and size of the project, including the feasibility of the various construction proposals, budgets and schedules. Vanir also helped the client define their mission statement and develop a plan that was in-line with their values.

Vanir is currently managing various projects in multiple phases within the two sites in Saudi Arabia. This is the largest expansion in the history of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre and includes a new pediatric center, cardiology center, oncology center and neurology center. The program includes:

  • 432 acute care bed expansion of King Faisal Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
  • Duplicate Private Hospitals for KFSH&RC in Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
  • Special Wing for Royalty and VVIP Patients, KFSH&RC in Jeddah
  • Medical Support Building KFSH&RC in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
  • Ambulatory Care Building KFSH&RC in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Hiring a Healthcare Expert

Over 30 initial proposals were received for the project and Vanir was selected over the six short-listed firms due to the company’s extensive Healthcare experience which dates back to the mid-1980s. Vanir’s experience includes new construction and renovations of medical clinics and acute care hospitals, veteran's homes, children's hospitals, and mental hospitals. The client was also impressed with Vanir’s hands-on approach and ability to take an active role in defining and managing the entire scope of the project in a holistic way to ensure it remained on target and achieved their goals.
