Vanir Wins California Transportation Foundation Award!
IETMC Project Wins Operational Efficiency Program of the Year Award
Vanir's Inland Empire Transportation Management Center (IETMC) project won the 2012 California Transportation Foundation award for Operational Efficiency Program of the Year. The project team was awarded this honor during an awards ceremony on May 23 at the Grand Ballroom in Sacramento.
The IETMC is designed to house both Caltrans and CHP personnel. It provides intermodal, interregional and interagency traffic management services for the Inland Empire region, which includes the counties of San Bernardino and Riverside (Caltrans District 8). The Inland Division Dispatch for CHP will also be co-located in this facility with the building being constructed to meet the Essential Services Act criteria. The IETMC site occupies approximately 10 acres within an approximate 35-acre state-owned parcel located in the southeast quadrant of the interchange of Interstate 15 (I-15) and State Route 210 (SR-210) in the City of Fontana. The building is a two-story, steel framed, base isolated structure with a total floor space of approximately 43,000 square feet and is designed to achieve a minimum LEED® Silver rating, but recently achieved LEED® Gold. A 120-foot communications tower is also constructed on the site.
